Hanzi Flavor is a bilingual (Chinese–English) magazine that explores the intersection of Chinese food culture and the written word. From the origins of food-related Hanzi to the evolving language of modern menus, this project reimagines how we read, taste, and understand what’s on our plates.
Blending design, illustration, cultural research, and speculative thinking, the magazine traces how language adds depth to flavor—linking tradition, identity, and innovation across time and space.
